Heck, I think I'll make this an information link post. Check out the many thousands of pages of the Congressional Record for 2009. There's often a lot of interesting info available. At the top portion of the links by date section, you will see that you can search the publication or view the latest daily digest. I'll often search the record by the Congressional delegation for Alabama to see what they have been saying...
Perhaps a few recent CRS Reports are more up your alley...
