I figured I'd do a little 5k yesterday morning. It was the Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful Duck and Run 5K. Results are linked from North Alabama Runner.

So, there I am on Friday night with my wife at a fundraiser carnival that was being held at the new high school in Madison, AL. Things were a little slow, so I busted out the old and trusty hacky sack. I'm standing there going to town with it and another dude even came over and joined in for a few minutes. After he left, I got back to it again. That's when the trouble started. Not trouble as in trouble with folks. Trouble as in my right foot was hiked up at least five feet behind my body. It's NOT pleasing to hear a double pop from that stance and then feel a shot of pain near the upper end of your hamstrings. I can still walk and even kept a semi-respectable (although notably slower) pace at the 5K the next morning, so I don't think it's really bad. Low grade strain I think (and hope). Still sore as a son of a gun. My wife says I'm getting old. I don't believe it...
